10 questions to ask your Wedding Make-Up Artist

Congratulations if you’re one of the couples who got engaged over Christmas and New Year 2015! Traditionally, it’s the most popular time of year to pop the question. Enjoy being engaged and when you want to start planning your Warwickshire wedding, here are 10 questions to ask your wedding make-up artist.

The 10 questions come from an American blog called Wedding Wire ( and I’ve given you my answers and so you’ll know all about me and what I can do for you!

1. How do I book you for my wedding make-up and do you require a deposit?

Just give me a call or drop me an email. I’ll check that I’m free on your wedding date and prepare a quote for you. I then need a £25.00 deposit to secure your day.

2. Will it be you at my wedding or another wedding make-up artist?

It will be me. If there is a very large bridal party I have an assistant to help me with the bridesmaids but I will always do the bride’s make-up. I come to wherever you are getting ready so you don’t need to travel.

3. How many weddings have you done?

I have done hundreds of weddings since becoming a wedding make-up artist in 2007. It is the main type of make-up that I do. Each and every bride is special and so is her wedding day. I never get tried of having such a great job!

4. Do you accommodate bridal parties?

Yes, I can do the make-up for your bridesmaids, mums and friends to complement their outfits and your wedding theme. If it is a very large party I can bring in an assistant to help me. I can quote for a wedding package price for you.

5. Do you have a portfolio to look at?

Yes, if we meet up for a coffee or at a wedding fayre you can see the hard copy but if you would like to look at the Gallery page of the website there are images there too.  Also, have a look at my Testimonials from my brides.

6. What make-up products do you use?

I use a range of make-up brands which I have tested for their longwear and great finish. I love MAC, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown and Chanel to name a few. I don’t believe that just one brand can do the best job and I’m always looking out for new and better products. For the foundation I use Airbase airbrush make-up which gives a flawless and long lasting finish.

7. Do you use products that are oil-free and/or contain SPF?

Yes, it’s important in the summer to protect your skin. Sun burn doesn’t look good in photos and isn’t the way to start your honeymoon. Some brides are also more prone to a shiny/oily skin whatever the time of year and so I use mattifying products before applying the make-up. Getting a good skin care routine in place is an important wedding preparation too.

8. Do you sell the cosmetics you use?

Generally, no, as I want to use the right products for you rather sell you things! I provide lip top-up kits for the bride and any other people I’m doing make-up for and so you don’t have to worry about your lipstick wearing off. If you get shiny I also supply blot sheets that remove oil without removing your make-up.

9. Do you offer airbrush, false lashes, tattoo coverage or other special services?

Yes, all of the above! I include a natural, radiant airbrushed base using Airbase and false lashes as standard in my wedding make-up prices. I am also a skin camouflage practitioner and so tattoos, scars and birthmarks need not be a worry for you as I have special products and the knowledge to cover them. I also have links with many other wedding suppliers and professionals from hair stylists to photographers to hypnotherapists and so I can put you in touch with all the right people. Have a look at my Links page.

10. Do you specialize in a certain wedding look?

I will advise you on what looks great for you and your wedding theme whether that’s classic, very natural, dramatic or vintage. I want you to look back at your wedding photographs and say, “Wow, I looked amazing that day!”

My 2015 diary is filling up fast so please get in touch as soon as possible and I look forward to working with you 🙂 Call me now – 07910 168577
