Wedding Make-Up Tips: Look Natural

Wedding Make-Up Tips

My spring season of wedding fairs is over and I collected £30 for the Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust (www.raft.ac.uk) in the process. A big ‘thank you’ to those who donated. At the fairs I chatted with 100’s of brides and Karen, Lorna, Nikki and Lisa were all winners in my Free Bridal Make-Up Trial prize draw.

I love talking about make-up and finding out what brides are planning for their wedding day. Here are the results of all those conversations!

There are some great wedding make-up tips here!

On the big day, brides want a natural look, have a smooth, blemish free and radiant complexion and for their make-up to last all day. On an everyday basis many wear little make-up and so getting professional advice is a must for them.

As summer approaches, here are some useful wedding make-up tips showing how I achieve that natural look that lasts all day for my beautiful brides.

Wedding Make-Up Tips 22The right base is all important and it shouldn’t look thick or mask-like. For those with clear skin Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser with spf is perfect as it evens out light variations in skin tone with golden hued radiance. Where a little more coverage is required I use Clinique Superbalanced Makeup. There are shades for every skin tone and the coverage is buildable so that it doesnt look heavy and suits all but very dry skin types. For mature or dry skins I use Chanel Vitalumiere Satin Foundation which gives a subtle glow to the skin. If needs must, even the worst spots can be successfully concealed using my range of camouflage cosmetics as can pigmentation problems, scars, birthmarks and tattoos.

Wedding Make-Up Tips to last all day

To make the base last all day, I dust the face with a good powder such as MAC Blot Powder or Chanel Translucent Pressed Powder. I focus on the areas that get shiny: nose, chin and forehead. I like to use a small soft brush to keep the application controlled and work into hard-to reach areas such as around the nose. I make sure that spots are powdered as this keeps the concealer or camouflage cosmetics in place. By the way here’s, if you have a tattoo you want to cover up for the day there are some great wedding make-up tips about that HERE

Rose tones in pink or peach are perfect for natural, fresh blush and lips and can be teamed with dramatic eyes (e.g HRH Duchess of Cambridge) or a more nude look (e.g. Dolce & Gabbana SS11).

Roll on the autumn wedding fairs where I look forward to meeting more beautiful brides. The first date in my dairy is 30 October 2011 at Leamington Town Hall but in the meantime I’ll be creating lots of fabulous wedding looks – violet and silver being the key wedding colours I’m picking up on this season. Look out for more wedding make-up tips from me soon!
